Bocce Courts - Different Surfaces

Bocce Court with Har-Tru as surface

The best surface for a bocce court is the most expensive. The Har-Tru surface is a very fine granular product that compacts well and is very smooth for rolling bocce balls.

Red Surface Color

A bocce court can be topped with red brick dust to create a red color.

Oyster Flour Bocce Court

Many California built bocce courts are topped with oyster flour or shell. This is a white organic material that provides a good top coat and playing surface. It is white when first installed and later turns gray.

DG - Decomposed Granite

Decomposed Granite is a common material for walkways and pervious landscape features. It can be used as a final surface for a bocce court. The finer the gradation of the material the better the court will play.
